And again the Leningrad Front

And again the Leningrad Front

Good day to you. Today I will tell you about our another trip to the places of Second World War (Leningrad front). This time it was decided not to dig out huge dugouts, but to concentrate on the surface and to dig a few German garbage pits.

This way we came across one of these garbage pits. It was not a deep one. We found several empty bottles of alcohol in it, including a clay bottle of the famous Riga balsam.

After a few meters, I came across another garbage pit. There were more finds in it. In addition to empty bottles in this pit there were plates (unfortunately they were broken),  glasses, perfume bottles, toothbrushes, and even an inkwell.

Perfume bottle. Incredible, but when I opened it, it still had a sweet scent of perfume. Photo by swamp_war

An hour later, my friend found a German gas mask tubus, in which there was a whole gas mask. I found a very rusty German helmet, and a very old (from Tsar Nicholas 2) copper ladle.

On this our excavation day came to an end. We did not find something unbelievable, but still we were satisfied.
