Bayonet of the 1941 model for the rifle of the Mauser system of the 1916 model

Bayonet of the 1941 model for the rifle of the Mauser system of the 1916 model

From the collection of Mr.G

Designed as a replacement for the M1907 Artillery Bolo, the Machete Bayoneta Modelo 1941, retains the M1907 Artillery Bolo’s blade profile and heavy crosspiece for cutting vegetation. Short bolo knives such as this were horribly inefficient cutting implements and were universally hated by those who had to use them.

A rather unusual form of the blade.

The bayonet could also be used with carbines and rifles of the Mauser system of the 1893 model and, with the help of an adapter, adjoin the rifles of the 1943 model. Initially, the bayonet was issued with cheeks made of wood. Most likely, the plastic cheeks of the handle were installed instead of the wooden ones during the repair of bayonets.

At the top of the handle is an adapter. It allows you to use this bayonet with other rifles.

The marks on the blade and scabbard match! This is a big luck. On the crosspiece there is a stamp of acceptance in the form of the Latin letter “U”.

Fabrica Nacional de Toledo

The bayonet marking consists of the manufacturer’s mark on the heel of the blade (Fabrica Nacional de Toledo). The bayonet number is also located on the heel of the blade.

In general, an interesting and unusual bayonet that complements and diversifies my collection quite well!
