Bayonet of the 1941 model for the rifle of the Mauser system of the 1916 model
From the collection of Mr.G
Designed as a replacement for the M1907 Artillery Bolo, the Machete Bayoneta Modelo 1941, retains the M1907 Artillery Bolo’s blade profile and heavy crosspiece for cutting vegetation. Short bolo knives such as this were horribly inefficient cutting implements and were universally hated by those who had to use them.
The bayonet could also be used with carbines and rifles of the Mauser system of the 1893 model and, with the help of an adapter, adjoin the rifles of the 1943 model. Initially, the bayonet was issued with cheeks made of wood. Most likely, the plastic cheeks of the handle were installed instead of the wooden ones during the repair of bayonets.
