The Allied operation began on June 6, 1944 (Day D) by landing 156,000 soldiers on the Normandy coast and was carried out in two main stages. The first stage was an airborne landing operation to drop 24 thousand British, American, Canadian and French paratroopers after midnight. The second stage consisted of a naval landing operation, which began at 6:30 in the morning, and a series of misinformation operations, code-named “Glimmer” and “Taxable”, the purpose of which was to mislead the Germans about the present direction of the invasion.

The landing was carried out on a 80-km-long coastal section between the mouth of the Orn River and the Ozville Commune, which was divided into 5 main sectors of the invasion: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juneau, and Sword. All the details in the movie.
