The mystery of two wedding rings
On April 17th we were at an excavation site when it suddenly started snowing.
We’d been researching a place where a rich man’s house stood centuries ago. Many treasure hunters had already excavated the famous site, so we didn’t think we’d find much, if anything. After digging for several hours, I found only a couple of Soviet coins, and accessories from antique furniture branded in the 1800s. My search parters did not find anything special either.
A couple of hours later, one of our team members found a man’s gold wedding ring (judging by the stigma – of the early Soviet period). We had gone over this place with metal detectors over and over that day and hadn’t found anything! A couple hours later, one of the team found a women’s wedding ring 20 m from the first find. We’d like to think that a married couple and threw away their wedding rings to symbolize the end of the marriage.
The reality of what happened could be very different. We’ll never know!
